Non-remy hair is often coated with silicon or stripped, to ensure the hair feels smooth, but sadly the smooth effects do not last and after a few washes the hair will lose its shine and soft texture. For novices, we appreciate that this can be a daunting process to embark on, but with these simple tips, the process is simplified and as a result, made much more enjoyable! Here is what you should do before you book that expensive appointment with your hair stylist:

1. If you have not yet tried hair extensions and you are unsure if they are the right option for you, start with clip-in hair extensions. The procedure is less expensive and they are removable!

2. Choosing the right clip in hair extensions is, however, essential if you want a good experience. Opting for authentic human hair is crucial in order for it to blend with your own hair and look natural. There is nothing less attractive than badly placed, obvious hair extensions. Choosing real human hair is naturally more costly than synthetic hair, but this is not something that you can not compromise on, if you want your hair to look decent, which is the whole point, right?

3. You also need to match the colour and texture of the hair extensions to your own hair. With a little help, you can also add highlights to add texture. At Real Hair By Bennet, we colour match for you. How we do this: send us a tiny sample of your hair and we will ensure that you have the perfect real human hair, which will blend with your hair type. 4. Following this, you can either apply these yourself or ask your hair stylist. But for best results, we recommend that you make an initial appointment with a stylist who can then cut/ blend the extensions with your own hair.
