How To Choose The Right Hair Extensions For Your Hair
There are advantages and disadvantages to all types of hair extensions, which can make the decision process quite daunting, especially if you are a novice. But fear not, we are here to help you make the right choice for you!
Choosing the right type of hair extensions for you, is crucial to ensure that you achieve the look that you desire, and have a positive experience. Hair extensions vary considerably in terms of hair origin (texture), quality and condition, fixture type, and impact on your own hair. In this article, we aim to take you through some of the key elements that you need to consider, which will save you a lot of time, research and wasted money on the wrong hair extensions!
The most important decision that you must consider, is hair type. At Real Hair By Bennet, this is one of the key areas that we aim to educate our customers on because poor quality hair often results in cheap, ‘fake’ looking hair extensions. Poor quality hair extensions are unsightly, which can put people off and prevent them from enjoying the wonderful benefits that high quality, real human hair extensions provide. So, it is in our interest that you make the right choice and achieve the most beautiful hair possible!
Why real human hair is the best hair
We only stock authentic human hair. Why? Because real human hair offers the most natural look and feel, and it behaves just like one’s own hair, which cannot be easily dupli cated by synthetic hair. Real human hair, unlike most synthetic hair, can also be easily styled with heat, just like your own hair. Synthetic hair on the other hand, can melt with heat and become dry over time. We recognise that real human hair can appear more expensive than synthetic hair; however, with proper care and attention, it is more durable and will last much longer. Therefore, in the long run, real human hair does not necessarily result in a bigger financial commitment. In fact, if you care for your real human hair correctly, it can last up to a whole year.
Not all real human hair is the same
The next element to consider when choosing hair extensions is the origin of the hair. Hair origin is indicative of texture, look and feel. For example, Chinese hair is often thicker and coarser than European hair. Indian hair is a little less thick, and European hair is the finest and most sought after of all hair, due to its soft texture. It is important to match your hair extensions to the texture of your own hair, so that the hair blends seamlessly and no one will suspect that you have hair extensions! At Real Hair By Bennet, we hold a large stock of all hair types to ensure the perfect match in both colour and texture. You can send us a tiny sample of your hair and our RHBB hair experts will match it for you.
The next consideration is whether to opt for remy or non-remy hair. Remy hair is considered the finest quality hair because all the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, or coated with silicon. In this regard, Remy hair is exactly the same as natural hair. Non-remy hair, however, does not guarantee that the cuticle will be aligned in the same direction. Non-remy hair is often coated with silicon or stripped, to ensure the hair feels smooth, but sadly the smooth effects do not last and after a few washes the hair will lose its shine and soft texture. At Real Hair By Bennet, we only stock the best remy hair, which lasts much longer than non-remy hair and is therefore a better investment.
Make an impact with colour!
Selecting real human hair extensions that blend with your natural hair colour, is the smartest choice, unless the intention is to create a more creative, dramatic look. For example, it is possible to add highlights or interesting streaks of colour with strategically placed extensions, but if you have not done this before, we suggest that you find an expert to do it for you – because the results of this can vary significantly! If a natural look is desired, then expert colour matching is essential. Remember that our Real Hair By Bennet hair experts are here to help you with this.
The next consideration is fixture type, which deserves a whole blog post on its own! But if you have not yet tried hair extensions, we suggest that you follow our 5 Steps To Test Whether Hair Extensions Are Right For You. We will discuss hair extension fixtures next month, so stay tuned! Until then, please feel free to get in contact and ask questions. We are here to help you have a great experience and love your hair.
With love,
